How to Prepare for Your Flooring Installation Day

A little prep before installation day makes the whole job faster, cleaner and less stressful. Here's a simple checklist so everything's ready when we arrive.

Before the day

  • Clear small and fragile items — lamps, electronics, décor, and anything breakable off the floor and out of the rooms we're working in.
  • Tell us about heavy furniture — we can move most standard pieces; just flag anything very heavy or specialty (pianos, large safes) ahead of time so we plan for it.
  • Empty closets if we're flooring inside them.
  • Plan for pets — a quiet, closed-off room or a day out of the house keeps them safe and calm.

On installation day

  • Access & parking — make sure we can get in and unload materials. In a condo, this means the service elevator and any loading dock booking is arranged.
  • Clear a path — a straight route from the entry to the work area speeds everything up.
  • Expect some noise and dust — old flooring removal and prep can be loud. We protect surrounding areas and clean up fully when we're done.

What we handle

We take care of removing and disposing of the old flooring, prepping and leveling the subfloor, the installation itself, and a full clean-up. Before we call it done, we walk the floor with you to make sure you're happy.

Condos & buildings

If you're in a condo, your property manager may need a certificate of insurance and an elevator booking. We provide the insurance certificate and work within your building's rules — just let us know the requirements when we book.
